Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains what Paper Cutout Studio (run by BACKLINE LLC, "we") collects, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. The short version: we keep what's needed to make your cutouts and collages and to run your account, we don't sell anything about you, and you can delete everything at any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in (we email you a sign-in link; there's no password) and to contact you about your account.
- The photos and videos you upload, and the images and videos the Service makes from them. Photos and videos can show people and places, and can carry hidden details such as where and when they were taken; we don't read or use those details, but they stay in the file you uploaded.
- Your account's records: your credit balance and history, the renders you've made and their settings, and basic facts about your uploads (type, size, dimensions, length).
- Payments: when you buy credits, Stripe handles the payment. We receive a record that you paid, how much and when, but never your card number.
- Technical logs: our hosting and processing providers keep standard logs (such as IP addresses, browser type and error reports) for security and to keep the Service working.
What we use it for
- To make your cutouts and collages, keep them for you to download, and run your account and credits.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To email you about your account, your purchases, or important changes to the Service.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, we don't show ads, and we don't use your uploads to train machine-learning models. Your uploads are processed automatically; nobody at BACKLINE LLC looks at them unless you ask us to (for example, for support), or we need to check a report of misuse or the law requires it.
Who helps us
We use these companies to run the Service. They handle your data only on our behalf and only as needed for that:
- Vercel: hosts the website and its server code.
- Supabase: accounts, sign-in (including the sign-in emails) and our database.
- Cloudflare (R2): stores your uploads and results.
- Runpod: the cloud GPU computers that process your uploads.
- Stripe: payments.
Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
How long we keep things
- Uploads and results are deleted automatically 30 days after they're made. Download anything you want to keep.
- Your account and its records are kept while your account is open.
- Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after you delete your account.
- When you delete your account, your files and records are deleted right away; copies in our providers' backups disappear as those backups expire.
Cookies and storage in your browser
We keep your sign-in session in your browser's storage so you stay signed in, and remember a few display choices. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
- See and download your uploads and results in the studio.
- Delete everything at any time with "Delete my account" on the studio page.
- Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or anything else about your data, at cristiamflores@yourbackline.com. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California) you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. We'll answer within 30 days.
Children
The Service isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Connections to the Service are encrypted, files are kept private and are only reachable through links that expire, and each account can only reach its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
